About Turning Around America

My name is Beth Ireland,

I am a Woodturner/Artist/Educator. Four years ago I conceived of a traveling educational project I call Turning Around America. . The main goal of this project is to empower people through the simple act of making an object in wood. This project consists of a seven-month journey around the country teaching hand skills through woodturning and woodworking to as many groups and individuals as I can.

Through our web site www.turningaroundamerica.com you will be able to watch woodturning lessons, follow my route, read my blog, meet the people I meet and learn more about my project. I will be traveling around America in a in a uniquely modified van that will be part workshop and part living space.
In order for this project to be a success I need your help. I am asking for financial support. Your money will go toward gas, food, video, web production and materials to teach with. Give any amount you can. No Donation is too small or too large – Every little bit helps! You can go to my web site and push the donate button, or send a check to:
Turning Around America, 33 Ashfield Street, Roslindale, MA 02131

The Route of my journey is located on the web site. If you know of a school, club or community group that would be interested in learning woodturning or woodworking please go to the contact information of the web site. The project is about education and empowerment. Please pass this message on to as many people as you can.

 Thank You.
With gratitude,
Beth Ireland
