About Turning Around America My name is Beth Ireland, I am a Woodturner/Artist/Educator. Four years ago I conceived of a traveling educational project I call Turning Around America. . The main goal of this project is to empower people through the simple act of making an object in wood. This project consists of a seven-month journey around the country teaching hand skills through woodturning and woodworking to as many groups and individuals as I can. Through our web site www.turningaroundamerica.com you will be able to watch woodturning lessons, follow my route, read my blog, meet the people I meet and learn more about my project. I will be traveling around America in a in a uniquely modified van that will be part workshop and part living space.
